Halito. I come to this work from a professional background of the arts, mental health, business, and leadership development. In 2009 I began my formal studies in mental health, and since then I have focused my work on finding therapeutic tools that address not only the person's symptoms but get to the root of the problem. The cultural, family, and geographic history matter and I believe in this work we must look at the relationships between all things. I strongly believe in a personalized approach to psychotherapy and feel that much of the current thinking about mental health wellness is outdated and ineffective.  I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California & Alaska, and certified in Expressive Arts Therapy. Most recently, I have run my own Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program in rural Lake County, and currently contract with multiple Indian Health Clinics including, Copper River Native Association, Sonoma County Indian Health Project, and Lake County Tribal Health Consortium  in order to better serve local and non-local Indigenous communities in their healing. My work focuses on supporting the healing work of individuals, communities, and helping organizations become more trauma informed and indigenize their health care.

My clients have taught me so much about resilience, compassion, diversity, creativity, and strength. Trauma is passed down generationally and so is resilience.

Chahta Sia Hoke! I am a proud citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. I incorporate my Indigenous values, healing practices, and cultural heritage into all that I do. I believe in decolonizing the practice of mental health and turning to the wisdom of the healing practices of our ancestors as a way forward.
